Prayer: Jewish Style

An interactive presentation that engages participants and challenges them to examine how they pray and the purpose of prayer in their lives.

The distinction between formalized prayer and personalized prayer is reviewed, along with ways of making formal prayer more personal and meaningful for the individual.

Selections from daily Psalms is reviewed and discussed and ways of making it more relevant to the individual.

The historical precedent of prayer during Temple times and its function is also reviewed.

Rabbinic Judaism

An introductory presentation on the necessity and validity of Oral Law and how it has kept Judaism viable and relevant from generation to generation.

Teshuva vs. Atonement

An exploration of the distinction between the biblical concept of "Atonement"  and the broader concept of  personal "Teshuva" and spiritual growth through repentance.

Gematria-Prelude to Kabballah

An interactive exploration of Jewish Numerology as a window into the Kabalistic mindset and "spiritual spheres" of the Torah.

The Love of God

An appreciation of the love of God, and an in-depth discussion of its primacy in Jewish thought and practice.
